In that song, and through much of what fills out American Teen, his debut album, Robinson's not one to get worked up. He's in no particular rush, content to drift through life while accepting, and occasionally sort of celebrating, the present. "American Teen" itself -- hollowed-out late-'80s mall pop with a disco-funk bassline -- is a youth anthem of shrugging aimlessness. There's not a whole lot of enthusiasm for revelry, dulled by substances, apathy, a combination of the two, or just the aspiration to look the part: "I'm so faded off of all the things I've taken, and maybe I'm not really drunk, maybe I'm really good at faking." There are points at which Robinson makes Frank Ocean sound like Teddy Pendergrass. On "Young Dumb & Broke," the mere concept of commitment seems so silly to him that he can't be bothered to enunciate the word, or maybe he just lost interest after the second syllable. After a nonchalant chorus that consists primarily of the song's title and a lethargic warble -- surprise -- he dumps one of his best melodies in the bridge. While he opens "Another Sad Love Song" by confessing "I'm not the best at showing my emotions," some bright moments make it apparent that Robinson has clearly sold himself short. Dusty ballad "Cold Blooded," in particular, demonstrates that he's perfectly capable of conveying grief without being overly demonstrative. When alert, he can be a force. ~ Andy Kellman

Genre: Funk / Soul

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/khalid-american-teen-explicit-content-2-lps_0Dd7b.jpg?v=1743975813
anderson-paak-oxnard-vinyl
Anderson.Paak - Oxnard - Vinyl
Anderson Paak recollects on volume three of his beach trilogy that he envisioned, back in high school, making music with Dr. Dre. The foresight manifested a decade later in a recurring role on Compton, and then a contract with the doctor's Aftermath label, announced a few months later, just as second volume Malibu was about to crash Billboard's R&B/hip-hop Top Ten. A couple subsequent Grammy nominations further showed that Paak could prosper without being anyone's prot?g?, thereby making his Aftermath debut somewhat anticlimactic before it was even completed. Disregard the context and Oxnard is simply the follow-up to Malibu, lyrically a little deeper and sonically a bit richer, though a little less novel. It happens to bare Dre's name as executive producer and mixing engineer, and as co-producer of four tracks, three of which are rhythmically choppy backdrops for a peacocking, raspy Paak, basking in affluence, berating rappers, and "fuckin' up the weekend" as he flashes his million-dollar grin. The dazzling and layered fourth Dre collaboration, "Cheers," also involves Q-Tip behind the board and in the booth, with Paak working through the loss of Mac Miller in poignant verses and a stirring chorus. Other than that track, embedded references to issues ranging from police brutality to personal troubles, and the post-11/8 "6 Summers" -- where anti-Trump taunts are balanced by incisions like "There's money to be made in a killing spree" -- Oxnard is about highly detailed hijinks and romantic conflicts. It's front-loaded with a kind of vehicular action-adventure mini-suite, beginning in sweeping blaxploitation style with help from Kadhja Bonet's voice and strings, continuing with the elegant if lascivious pit stop "Headlow," and climaxing with "Tints," glistening and twisting modern synth-funk fortified by a duly animated Kendrick Lamar verse. Paak later verges closer than ever to loverman status with the slowly chugging Snoop Dogg pairing "Anywhere," filled with flashbacks to '80s and '90s R&B like One Way, Mtume, and Ruff Endz. Although Paak is still an R&B artist more so than a hip-hop one, he continues to be a stylistic outlier. Rather than pander, testify, or even seduce, he tends to express the blues when he sings, epitomized on "Smile/Petty," in which he confronts a liar and wails "My lady drives me high up the wall." Later lyrical transgression aside, the LP is a pleasurable thrill ride. ~ Andy Kellman

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

Chris Stapleton | From A Room: V2 (LP) | Vinyl | 12/01/2017

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/chris-stapleton-from-a-room-volume-2_0V2Fs.jpg?v=1744000650
cage-the-elephant-unpeeled-vinyl
CAGE THE ELEPHANT - Unpeeled - Vinyl

Since the late 2000s, American-born, London-based alt-rock outfit Cage the Elephant have had a prolific output of material that has traversed an eclectic array of style and sound; initially delivering accessible pop song structures laden with bluesy, punk-infused vocals and guitar work alongside a somewhat defiant Iggy Pop-esque attitude, the band eventually arrived at a more psychedelic sound with its 2015 effort, Tell Me I'm Pretty. The latter proved to be more akin to the bright hedonism and transparent honesty, identifiably representative of Jim Morrison and the Doors, all packed into a sleek production package, albeit not shy of the grit and fuzz of the garage rock aesthetic, harnessed by producer Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. Here, Cage the Elephant present their second live record, aptly entitled Unpeeled, a 21-track belter of stripped-back, alternate versions of popular cuts from their back catalog, without losing any of the aforementioned grit or attitude. Consisting of live recordings from various venues across the States in support of Tell Me I'm Pretty, a lot of it hardly sounds live at all (in the best sense); the band's performances are tight, unwavering, and flawless in their execution. Unpeeled is a long live album, but the band manages to arrest the listener by taking twists and turns in each song performance. It's a consistently good listen, although there are of course highlights; tracks such as "Punchin' Bag," "Trouble," and "Shake Me Down" are concrete reminders of the group's penchant for lyrical storytelling and affinity for hooks and melody, powerfully translated here with an organic setup. A lot of moments also bring to mind some of the techniques used on the Beatles' Revolver, with prominent and effective use of what sounds like live double-tracking and tape delay. The last third of the record shines the best; live favorite "Come a Little Closer" is punctuated with a beautifully rich and resonant string accompaniment, while penultimate track "Cigarette Daydreams" begins with Matt Shultz filling up the venue with his howling vocals atop a sonorous lone acoustic guitar before the rest of ensemble comes in; pronounced, tightly wound snares and kick drum carry the rest of the song alongside forlorn strings and piano, before a skin-crawling middle-eight section in which the audience sings the song's main refrain ("You can drive all night/Looking for the answers in the pouring rain...") in magical unison. The album ends with Thank You, Happy Birthday closer "Right Before My Eyes" -- one last chance for a sorrowful yet warm performance, enriched with more strings, reverb, and Shultz's pained voice echoing out into the darkness. Unpeeled is a great live album that not only encapsulates Cage the Elephant's ability to honor, reference, and tribute the sonic feel of Zeitgeists past, but ultimately reminds you that all it takes is a simple song with minimal instrumentation about introspection, yearning, or internal struggles to still achieve a huge, soaring sound that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. ~ Rob Wacey

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

Hail To The Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009) is a Records & LPs from Radiohead

Genre: Alternative

Released: 2025-10-31

Format: Vinyl

Genre: Alternative

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/radiohead-hail-to-the-thief-live-recordings-2003-2009_xhxLc.jpg?v=1759395517
various-artists-wicked-for-good-the-soundtrack-2lp-vinyl
Various Artists - Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack [2LP] - Vinyl

Various Artists – Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack (2LP Vinyl)

Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack brings the magic, drama, and heart of Universal Pictures’ global cinematic event Wicked: For Good to vinyl for the very first time. The Foos are aided by super-producer Gil Norton this time out (Norton also helped craft the group's second, and arguably best, album, THE COLOR AND THE SHAPE). The result is a polished yet powerful outing that proves the Foos have earned their status as one of alternative rock's most reliable acts. But while tunes like "The Pretender" pack a hard-rock wallop, the real surprises on ECHOES are the softer songs. The breezy, folky "Summer's End," for example, is a standout, as is Grohl's solo acoustic performance on "Stranger Things Have Happened." This isn't to say the Foo Fighters have mellowed--the album contains as much amplified snarl as any of their others--but here the quieter moments rival the rockers, revealing a band whose intimate, earnest moments are as convincing as their head-banging ones.

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/foo-fighters-echoes-silence-patience-and-grace_bn1Dt.jpg?v=1765987053
earl-sweatshirt-i-dont-like-shit-i-dont-go-outside-an-album-by-earl-sweatshirt-explicit-content-download-insert-vinyl
Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside: An Album By Earl Sweatshirt [Explicit Content] (Download Insert) - Vinyl

Aptly titled with the off-putting I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside, Earl Sweatshirt's sophomore effort is a crushing confessional that refuses to get off the couch, even if it's beautiful outside. "I ain't been outside for a minute, I've been livin' what I wrote" the Odd Future MC snaps on "Guilt," but then again, why bother as adoring fans ("They the reason that the paper in your trousers thick") can't help Earl with the recent death of a family member (his grandmother) and entering your twenties jaded about drugs (there's a love/hate relationship with Xanax and/or weed that pops up here and there) must be rough. Being a teen exiled to Samoa didn't help much either as the excellent "Faucet" shrugs off his "Free Earl" era with "Before I did that shit that earned me a term on that island," but the man never comes off as misguidedly privileged or resistant to advice, he just feels like a cog in the machine, grist for the mill. I Don't Like Shit is only a grueling album on first encounter, since Earl's old-school-styled, tight rhymes remain as scintillating as they were on his official debut Doris, but that album's overwhelming runtime has been slashed to an economical 30 minutes here. Besides that, the rapper handles most of the production himself, using the moniker randomblackdude while giving "Huey" a cartoonish lilt, and "Inside" a warped vision of the angelic R&B crew member Frank Ocean offers. The idea of being "stuck" is always enforced by a soundfield that's MP3-influenced and compressed, while the guest list (Dash, Wiki, Vince Staples, and Na'kel) is minimal with only one production ("Off Top") handed over to Left Brain. I Don't Like Shit is heavy and lacks much hope, and yet it communicates these feelings with such skill and artful understanding that it still fills the soul. ~ David Jeffries

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/earl-sweatshirt-i-dont-like-shit-i-dont-go-outside-an-album-by-earl-sweatshirt-explicit-content-download-insert_2k4Fc.jpg?v=1766537117
notorious-big-ready-to-die-vinyl
Notorious Big - READY TO DIE - Vinyl

The album that reinvented East Coast rap for the gangsta age, Ready to Die made the Notorious B.I.G. a star, and vaulted Sean "Puffy" Combs' Bad Boy label into the spotlight as well. Today it's recognized as one of the greatest hardcore rap albums ever recorded, and that's mostly due to Biggie's skill as a storyteller. His raps are easy to understand, but his skills are hardly lacking -- he has a loose, easy flow and a talent for piling multiple rhymes on top of one another in quick succession. He's blessed with a flair for the dramatic, and slips in and out of different contradictory characters with ease. Yet, no matter how much he heightens things for effect, it's always easy to see elements of Biggie in his narrators and of his own experience in the details; everything is firmly rooted in reality, but plays like scenes from a movie. A sense of doom pervades his most involved stories: fierce bandits ("Gimme the Loot"), a hustler's beloved girlfriend ("Me & My Bitch"), and robbers out for Biggie's newfound riches ("Warning") all die in hails of gunfire. The album is also sprinkled with reflections on the soul-draining bleakness of the streets -- "Things Done Changed," "Ready to Die," and "Everyday Struggle" are powerfully affecting in their confusion and despair. Not everything is so dark, though; Combs' production collaborations result in some upbeat, commercial moments, and typically cop from recognizable hits: the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" on the graphic sex rap "One More Chance," Mtume's "Juicy Fruit" on the rags-to-riches chronicle "Juicy," and the Isley Brothers' "Between the Sheets" on the overweight-lover anthem "Big Poppa." Producer Easy Mo Bee's deliberate beats do get a little samey, but it hardly matters: this is Biggie's show, and by the time "Suicidal Thoughts" closes the album on a heartbreaking note, it's clear why he was so revered even prior to his death. At least, that's essentially been the overarching conceptual tone of his band Panic! At the Disco since at least 2011's Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! -- and that tone definitely informs his sixth studio album, 2018's Pray for the Wicked. It's a conceptual notion that also made 2016's surprisingly affecting Frank Sinatra-goes-emo-crooner masterpiece Death of a Bachelor such an unexpected joy. In many ways, Pray for the Wicked feels like a companion album to its predecessor, informed as much by '90s R&B and hip-hop as it is Urie's love of driving, hooky pop/rock. Produced once again by Jake Sinclair, it's a bombastically overstuffed production, full of pounding marching-band beats, tidal-wave synths, horns that punch at bright angles, and a DJ's penchant for twisting and reconfiguring arrangements with Thanos-like disregard for human physics. Throughout it all, Urie paints himself with Michelangelo-esque strokes as a flamboyant cross between James Cagney, Biggie Smalls, and Beyonc?, singing "I'm a moon-walker, I'm like M.J. up in the clouds" on "Dancing's Not a Crime." He also has the same obsessions: religious iconography, the lure of Los Angeles, and the constant struggle between social concern and personal interest. As he sings on the anthemic "Say Amen (Saturday Night)," "And if I try to change my life one more day, there would be nobody else to save/And I can't change into a person I don't wanna be, so/Oh, it's Saturday night." The rest of the album pulses with an equal level of throw-your-hands-in-the-air energy, as Urie soars through the arrangements, his voice as highly resonant and stage-ready as ever. Admittedly, his embrace of slick pop aesthetics, Rat Pack swagger, and cheeky turns of phrase can be a bit much on first listen. That can go for dedicated fans as well as newcomers. Having traversed the likes of controversy in the industry, surprising collaborations, surreal marketing tactics, and of course, ferocious live appearances, the band have most certainly cemented their status as one of the most captivating and fearless acts of the 2010s. Following 2016's Bottomless Pit, here the band deliver their sixth LP, Year of the Snitch. The former -- alongside other prior releases -- have managed to occasionally meld somewhat accessible traits of more widely acknowledged hip-hop into their sound. Here, however, it seems that Death Grips have opted to go for more surrealism this time. Although the first third of the record is seemingly not as in-your-face as previous work, opener "Death Grips Is Online" blasts in straightaway with thudding electro percussion, indecipherable vocal samples, and bright synth leads before segueing into Zach Hill's thundering toms and MC Ride's trademark hollering. Languid beats and deadpan rapping adorn single "Flies," while "Black Paint" wallops with organic drum rolls, buzzing keys, and eerily reversed vocals with the chorus consisting of Led Zeppelin-esque guitar riffs and abrupt turntable scratching. Fifth track "The Horn Section" is where things get weird -- erratic drumming and dissonant, Casio-style keys carry the instrumental to a close before "Hahaha" arrives -- a sign that the rest of what you're about to hear probably won't adhere to any strict time signature for longer than four to six bars at any one time. Odd unpredictable moments crop up elsewhere, but Year of the Snitch does give you a breather with tracks such as "Streaky," which is largely composed of hard-hitting MPC beats, sporadic scratching, and the band's knack for brilliantly executed sampling techniques. Having sampled some of their own work in places -- "Shitshow" features samples from their debut 2011 mixtape Exmilitary -- you can never really tell what sounds are discovered or if they're original recordings from Death Grips themselves, albeit heavily processed and manipulated to the point where it's impossible to identify. Which is just one small aspect of the broader genius that is Death Grips. Not one of their releases is the same as another, and with Year of the Snitch, they continue to break boundaries and expectations. That much is clear from Divide, the album he released to eager anticipation in March 2017. Compared to its two predecessors, Divide -- which, like its predecessors, has its title rendered as a mathematical symbol -- is colorful and lithe, casually hopscotching from style to style without ever drawing attention to its range. Sheeran long ago perfected his rapping busker schtick, which frees him to fulfill his destiny as an adult alternative troubadour. Such sentimental smashes as "Thinking Out Loud" paved the way for Sheeran to plump up Divide with love songs and unveiled confessions, which, in turn, lets him play around with different styles throughout the album. "Dive" finds Sheeran easing into old-fashioned Memphis soul, a supple groove countered by his decision to go full Celtic on "Galway Girl" and, on the deluxe edition, he celebrates Spain on "Barcelona" and dabbles in Graceland-styled Afro-beat on "Bibia Be Ye Ye." Ultimately, these splashy sounds are merely accouterments on an album that leans heavily on Sheeran's sentimentality yet this flair gives Divide welcome color, helping to put his standard tricks in sharp relief. Sheeran can still be clumsily literal -- the worst arrives earliest, when he sniffs "friends and family filled with envy when they should be filled with pride" on "Eraser" -- but such stumbles are balanced by flashes of cutting wit, such as the dissection of the "New Man" of his old lover. Despite this wordplay, the chief appeal of Divide is Sheeran's musicality, particularly his facility in turning his folk-rap into adult pop. Throughout the record, Sheeran seems assured in his smooth schtick, and that cheesy confidence, combined with the hints of new style, help make Divide his easiest album to enjoy. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Genre: Rock

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/ed-sheeran-divide-180-gram-vinyl-45-rpm-digital-download-card-2-lps_7m7to.jpg?v=1771276562
panic-at-the-disco-pretty-odd-vinyl
Panic! Since then, Ghost's tenure has been tumultuous: The band's "Nameless Ghouls" sued mastermind, chief songwriter, and vocalist Tobias Foge, ultimately unmasking him as all three incarnations of Satanic pope and frontman Papa Emeritus. Ghost carries on with Foge as "Cardinal Copia," fronting an entirely new cast of musicians. Prequelle, the band's fourth album delivers on the hooky hard rock promise of Meliora by doubling down on the '70s and '80s rock tropes that informed it. Foge and company have drawn from a wide pool of inspirations here, from classic late-'70s Blue ?yster Cult and Alice Cooper to British heavy metal bands from Def Leppard to Judas Priest, to occult metal provocateurs like King Diamond and pop songwriting that owes much to ABBA. This ambitious set uses the backdrop of the Black Plague during the dark ages as a device for these songs to pivot on. It's not about death so much as how one lives and enjoys life until death inevitably arrives. After opener "Ashes," where creepily ambient electronics frame a haunted kid's choir singing "Ring Around the Rosie" -- a song that dates from the Plague years in the 14th century -- comes the hit single "Rats," whose double entendre lyrics equate human behavior to be as ravenously bloodthirsty and contagious as rodents. Introduced by whomping snare and kick drum, a stuttering Vivian Campbell riff and ringing twin leads open an insanely catchy melody, articulated by Foge/Cardinal Copia's vocals which alternate between sickly sweet to guttural. The layered choruses could soundtrack any teenage night-driving fantasy. "Faith" wears its metal chops proudly, with Dio-inspired chugs behind Foge. "Dance Macabre" is melodic hard rock brilliance, juxtaposing Blue ?yster Cult's reliance on knotty riffs and upbeat hooks with a vocal chorus straight from the Scorpions' fake book, and framed by Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman's cinematic bombast. "Witch Image" is occult hard pop at its best (complete with phase-shifted drums), wedding a seductive melody to the lyrics "While you sleep/In earthly delight/Someone's flesh/Is rotting tonight...." The album also boasts a pair of instrumentals: The drifting hard prog of "Miasma" and "Helvetesfonster," where Yes and early King Crimson meet Opeth. "See the Light" flirts with power balladry while transforming itself into a crunchy, headbanging anthem, while closer "Life Eternal" is a ballad proper, offering a sensitive lead vocal that recalls Michael Stipe's, singing about undying love even as mortal death occurs amid a swelling church organ, tender piano, and spidery guitars with an operatic chorus in the final third. On Prequelle, Ghost deliver fully on the promises of earlier records. Their strengths --including one for imitation -- are fully assembled and focused in an exercise of irresistible arena rock excess without sounding like a pastiche. ~ Thom Jurek

Genre: Rock

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

The Misfits include: Glenn Danzig (vocals). Recorded between October 1977 and June 1981. Includes alternate takes and early singles. Long before the doomed theatrics of Danzig, there was the Misfits, a seminal punk band who had it all. With creepy songs, played by an even creepier band, and a singer who sounded eerily like Elvis, the Misfits dared defy a rock category that had yet to emerge. Fifteen years after their peak, the Misfits and the material that later became LEGACY OF BRUTALITY was the Punk 101 course for generations to come. The Misfits sounded like the Ramones backing Elvis on "The Monster Mash." Their eerie riffs and simplistic production was way ahead of its time in an era of disco and extended blues jams. Building on their soon-to-be punk credentials, the Misfits put out records on their own Plan 9 label in 1977, years before the acknowledgement of such independent labels. LEGACY OF BRUTALITY perfectly captures the Misfits in all their horrific glory. Danzig's disarming eloquence is evident in "Who Killed Marilyn?": "5:25 August 5, 1962/Marilyn lying on her chest/Her face all turning blue/Could it have been an overdose?/Or could it have been the feds/Could it have been the Kennedys/Or was it just the L.A.P.D." LEGACY OF BRUTALITY will undoubtedly inspire generations of post-punk misfits for years to come. Legacy of Brutality compiles a variety of Misfits rarities and outtakes, including the entire unissued portion of the band's unreleased 1978 debut, Static Age (several of its tracks that appeared on early EPs are not included here). Also present are the A-sides of the non-LP singles "Halloween" and "Who Killed Marilyn?," the latter actually a Glenn Danzig solo record. As an entity unto itself, the compilation plays a little inconsistently, and with the various reissues in recent years, it's not quite invaluable any longer, but it's arguably a better way to hear this material than the Static Age reissue, especially since a couple of Legacy's better songs are not on any of the other single-disc compilations. ~ Steve Huey

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

Sonic Youth: Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo (vocals, guitar); Kim Gordon (vocals, bass); Steve Shelley (drums). Over the course of Cage the Elephant's career, each step along the way has attracted attention for the sounds they incorporated: Nirvana, Beck, the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, the White Stripes, Pixies. Now, enter the Black Keys. It's no surprise, given that the head Key, Dan Auerbach, produced the album at his Easy Eye Studio in Nashville. Entwined in their Southern-fried rock sound, Auerbach brings an organic production to Tell Me I'm Pretty, reportedly using first takes and scratch vocals. So while the band's sound has softened somewhat -- there's less rollicking fury and the feral edges have been smoothed (most notably on the plaintive beauty "How Are You True") -- the fresh depth and grit heard here are reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys' evolution once they hooked up with Josh Homme. As with that relationship, the young band's sound naturally takes on the flavor of the producer's band, and it's mostly for the better. Auerbach's signature Black Keys sound pops up on a few tracks: most notably on first single "Mess Around," which is a perfect El Camino hip-shaker, as well as the stomping "Punchin' Bag." Elsewhere, glimmers of former ferocity briefly pop up, especially on the sneering sleazy album closer "Portuguese Knife Fight," which sounds like "Down on the Street" Iggy Pop fronting the aforementioned Arctic Monkeys lads. For fans of the "old" Cage, the sparkly twang of "Trouble" harks back to their Pixies hero worship heyday: it apes "Where Is My Mind?" so expertly it even includes the line "God don't let me lose my mind." Despite the clear connections, it's not completely derivative. Cage the Elephant are maturing and their songs have a new heft to them, which may drive away some old diehards but will certainly attract new followers. ~ Neil Z. Through most of the challenging album, Vernon and his collaborators create miniature structures of sound and space, letting his vocals drift and cascade through sparse and fractured constructs like a lost soul wandering through empty futuristic streets. It's a long way from intimate folk songs recorded in a remote Wisconsin cabin. In the music, one can hear the influence of Vernon's occasional collaborator Kanye West, especially on the mutated R&B tracks like "10 d E A T h b R E a s T ? ?" and "33 'God'," where his vocals take on a rap-like cadence, but also in the sense of grandeur and bombast intermittently found there and elsewhere. In direct contrast are the songs that sound very inward and emotionally bleak and twisted, possibly reflecting some of Vernon's struggles along the way. The desperate "715 - CR??KS," which features nothing but a choir of Auto-Tuned Vernons singing aching lyrics that sound like they're being ripped from the deepest, darkest corner of his tortured soul, is maybe the darkest track. In yet more contrast, a few songs on the album retain much of the hushed acoustic feel of his earlier albums, but with weird electronics and tricks around the edges. The beautiful "29 #Strafford APTS" is a folk song at its core, but he adds altered vocals, queasily pitched saxophones, and distorted electronic tones to provide some drama to the song. He does similar things to the album-ending piano ballad "00000 Million" and the tense, almost ambient "21 M??N WATER," turning them from typically sad Bon Iver songs into something weird and oddly more affecting. The only track on the album that falls short of the standard set elsewhere is "8 (circle)," which makes the mistake of being a little too earnestly straightforward and too much like a Bruce Hornsby song. This was probably the one that needed the most manipulation, and it's the one that gets the least. One little misstep can't keep 22, A Million from being a return to form, even as it turns the established form on its head and gives it a spin. It's clear that the upheavals in Vernon's life and music are a matched set; he turns his pain into art as he does a deep dive into exploration of technique and sound. It's an impressive feat of reinvention that manages to keep Vernon's emotional core fully intact no matter how far the music strays from established Bon Iver territory. ~ Tim Sendra

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/bon-iver-22-a-million-digital-download_Gmucj.jpg?v=1775383463
cage-the-elephant-thank-you-happy-birthday-vinyl
CAGE THE ELEPHANT - Thank You, Happy Birthday - Vinyl

A time warp mash of the Pixies, Oasis, the Arctic Monkeys, and Kasabian that hails from, of all places, Bowling Green, KY, Cage the Elephant are out of step, out of style, and out of place on their second effort, like alt-rock kids trapped in an indie rock world. Thank You Happy Birthday bangs hard on the guitars and swaggers like the Shins never happened, but once hot, fast tracks like "2024" and "Right Before My Eyes" sink their hooks into the listener, it doesn't matter much that the band is an odd patchwork quilt of alt-rock nostalgia. If this was some supergroup that splintered off the Smashing Pumpkins it would make perfect sense, but these memorable songs are delivered with the same energetic push the band displayed on its self-titled debut, so the strong sense of purpose is intact. Big, winding numbers like "Aberdeen" and "Indy Kidz" display growth and the electronica touches found throughout the effort are welcome acknowledgments that this is a post-Radiohead world. It began with their glory days as one of hip-hop's greatest acts to years of sometimes bitter estrangement, then hit a high point with the group coming together in 2015 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm. They had a surprise up their sleeve, though. On the night they performed on The Tonight Show, the four original members of the Tribe decided the time was right to hit the studio and make a new album. Repairing relationships was the first step and once that happened, the group (minus Ali Shaheed Muhammad, who was in Los Angeles working on the music to Luke Cage) holed up in Q-Tip's home studio and started working on their comeback, We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service. Q-Tip held down the producer's chair with a mad scientist's flair, searching near and far through his record collection for inspiration. Tip, Phife, and Jarobi brought rhymes that sounded like they'd been sealed up since the early '90s, then broken open and served fresh. Old collaborators Busta Rhymes and Consequence dropped by to add their skills and energy; new artists like Kendrick Lamar and Anderson Paak, who grew up on the Tribe, dropped by to add verses, and some big names like Andre 3000 and Kanye West jumped in feet first, especially Andre, whose rapid-fire verses with Q-Tip on "Kids" provide one of the record's highlights. Jack White adds some of his guitar heroics on a few tracks and Elton John makes a cameo as well, singing the hook of the very odd "Solid Wall of Sound." The sheer number of guests, the long wait since their last album, the shifting tides of hip hop -- all these factors could have led to We Got It being a disappointment. Amazingly, it turns out to be almost the exact opposite. Thanks to Q-Tip's visionary and pleasingly weird production, which draws from golden age hip-hop, old-school jazz, odd samples, dub reggae, and interplanetary electro, the fact the neither he nor Phife have lost even a small percentage of a step, and the seamlessly integrated contributions from the guests (especially Paak on "Moving Backwards"), the album is vibrant, intense, and alive. The group sound like they're having a blast on party songs like "The Donald" or the buoyant "Dis Generation," get mad as hell on tracks like "Space Program" and "We the People," and generally come off like they're still the greatest. This is no nostalgia trip or callous comeback. It's a giant exclamation point on the end of a brilliant career. It's also a tribute to the everyman genius of Phife, a widescreen look at the record-making skills of Q-Tip, and most importantly, it's a pure, undiluted, joyous thrill to have the Tribe back and still sounding this vital. ~ Tim Sendra

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/a-tribe-called-quest-we-got-it-from-here-thank-you-4-your-service-2-lps_Zk0aX.jpg?v=1776510884
bob-dylan-and-the-grateful-dead-dylan-the-dead-vinyl
Bob Dylan And The Grateful Dead - Dylan & The Dead - Vinyl

Bob Dylan & The Grateful Dead: Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir (vocals, guitar); Brent Mydland (keyboards); Phil Lesh (bass); Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann (percussion). This document of the historic summer-of-1987 live pairing of the rock era's premier singer/songwriter and its longest-running psychedelic adventure-cum-sideshow is not nearly as great as the shows themselves were. As the dry reading of "Joey," his mid-'70s tribute to gangster Joey Gallo, rightfully suggests, Dylan kept the Dead on their toes with his choices. The Dead, of course, brought their indescribable way with a song, their ability to turn any tune into a jam-friendly, lyrical boogie. And as the opening "Slow Train Coming" rightfully suggests, when this weird combo of talents clicked, every dusty corner of Dylan's catalog got a unique makeover.

Genre: Rock

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/bob-dylan-and-the-grateful-dead-dylan-the-dead_K2i7K.jpg?v=1776530446
metallica-garage-days-re-revisited-vinyl
Metallica - Garage Days Re-Revisited - Vinyl

Metallica: James Hetfield (vocals, guitar); Kirk Hammett (guitar); Jason Newsted (bass); Lars Ulrich (drums, percussion). Following Cliff Burton's death, Metallica took some time off and initiated new bassist Jason Newsted with a raw, unpolished EP of covers originally recorded by Diamond Head, Holocaust, Killing Joke, Budgie, and the Misfits. All tracks have been digitally remastered. The Replacements were one of America's greatest bands of the 80s, irrespective of genre, though during their lifetime they received thin acknowledgement from anyone but informed critics. LET IT BE demonstrates the unique hybrid of sloppy punk attitude and classic rock sensibilities that drove fans to devotion and critics to supplication. It was 1984, and the Replacements were poised to erupt from the Minneapolis punk scene onto the national stage. Paul Westerberg's songs lose all timidity as he tackles subjects like failure, confusion, and despair with a lyrical directness and a voice capable of ravaged emotion, unbridled fury, and effecting vulnerability. "I Will Dare" addresses an aging loser's complexes, while the tender ballad "Androgynous" chronicles a punk-rock love affair. "Unsatisfied"--perhaps Westerberg's best song--is a sweeping contemplation of shattered dreams. Profundity aside, there is also a huge sense of fun about LET IT BE, with throwaway material like "Gary's Got A Boner" and their cover of Kiss's "Black Diamond" foregrounding the quartet's signature drunken levity amid the angst. The Mats' finest hour, LET IT BE is easily on the shortlist for best albums of the '80s.

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

PARANOID proved to be Black Sabbath's most focused, consistent, and successful record. Leaving behind the amorphous, extended jams of their debut for focused songs and a more structured sound, Black Sabbath virtually wrote the book on heavy metal with the ominous, unforgettable riffs, thunderous rhythms, and dark themes on this release. There are some up-tempo rockers, the famous title track for one, but for the most part PARANOID oozes along like a bad dream, as on the slinky, creepy opener, "War Pigs," or the lumbering thud of "Iron Man" (which boasts one of the most indelible electric guitar riffs in rock history). The album's title is apt: PARANOID is filled with an edgy aggression and lyrics about war, insanity, death, and destruction. Ozzy Osbourne's flat, affectless voice merges perfectly with Tony Iommi's fuzzed-out, sledgehammer power chords and the bruising bass and drum lines to create an intense, freaky, horror-show universe. There are elements of blues-rock and psychedelia (the floating "Planet Caravan," in particular), but Black Sabbath basically invents here what would become one of the most popular genres of music in the latter 20th century and beyond. Janis Joplin's PEARL, from 1971, is a bluesy, organ-drenched benediction for the flower-child sound of the free-and-easy 60's. It is also one of great singer's most consistent and representative efforts. Gone are the ear-shattering sonics of Big Brother and the Holding Company, and Full Tilt Boogie, the backing band here, steps in to offer a degree of polish and control that frames Joplin's vocals nicely. Yet the band still grooves hard with the fierceness her voice demands. Guitarist John Till's riffs, chords, and solos, in particular, are exciting and tightly executed. "A Woman Left Lonely" and Bobby Womack's "Trust Me" are rain-on-the-windows ballads that come alive with Joplin's gritty vocal brilliance, while the burbling "Move Over" and "Half Moon" are among her funkiest, most driving cuts. The dramatic "Cry Baby" is offset by the tongue-in-cheek a cappella number "Mercedes Benz," while Joplin's version of Kris Kristofferson's "Me and Bobby McGee" went on to become her signature song. Joplin died during the sessions for PEARL, making these tracks the final word on her towering talent and a superb addition to her enduring legacy.

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/1391/9797/files/janis-joplin-pearl-180-gram-vinyl_9gDlF.jpg?v=1776729585
buckingham-nicks-buckingham-nicks-hi-fi-un-numbered-vinyl
Buckingham Nicks - Buckingham Nicks - Hi-Fi [Un-Numbered] - Vinyl

Artist: Buckingham Nicks
Title: Buckingham Nicks (2025 Remaster)
Format: Hi-Fi Series – 1LP 180g Vinyl
Label: Rhino / Hi-Fi Series

Description:
Part of the Rhino Hi-Fi series — the industry benchmark for audiophile sound and packaging — this definitive edition of Buckingham Nicks has been meticulously remastered from the original analog tapes. Cole's fourth album arrived exactly two years after 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Released on short notice and with minimal hype, it's another one without guest verses, and his leanest yet. Told in the first person, most of its tracks trace the life trajectory of Cole's slain friend, as someone who dealt drugs, changed course after falling in love, and died at the age of 22. Cole also draws from some aspects of his own life. One track regards an unjustified SWAT raid on a house he rented for recording, leaving him feeling targeted, "Even when the president jam your tape." There's a moment of levity and sweetness throughout "Foldin Clothes," where Cole enthusiastically handles some domestic duties, while the two parts of "She's Mine" regard, respectively, his wife and daughter. Most moving and forthright is the closing title track, nine minutes of grimly focused reflections from multiple vantage points. Cole's predominant scarred yet resolute feeling, perfectly conveyed in his downward, furrowed gaze in the album's promotional images, is likewise reflected with the productions. Mostly slow and nuanced, cooked up with a crew of well over a dozen co-producers, they involve instrumental help from the likes of trumpeter Theo Croker, guitarist Steve Lacy of the Internet, and keyboardist Masayuki Hirano. It's a special work, one that might require several thorough spins -- across a long stretch of time -- to be fully appreciated by those who love Cole's hit singles. ~ Andy Kellman

Genre: Pop

Best Sellers: Top Seller

Format: Vinyl

Description Tyler, The Creator - Wolf (Hot Pink Vinyl) - Rap / Hip-Hop - 2 LP Long out of print on vinyl, Tyler, The Creator’s classic album Wolf finally receives an official repress. Digitally remastered by Stephen Marcussen (Marcussen Mastering). Released three years after his departure from Black Sabbath, DIARY is Ozzy's second solo album. A true metal masterpiece, the record features Randy Rhoads (previously in Quiet Riot). DIARY and its successors showed that Ozzy could not only make it on his own, but exceed his former bandmates in popularity. "Over The Mountain" rumbles in and features the often imitated-never duplicated soloing of Randy Rhoads. The man is arguably the most influential guitarist in heavy rock besides Eddie Van Halen. "Flying High Again" follows, and is Ozzy's ode to non-stop partying. "Tonight" is a wonderful ballad, showing Randy's tasteful restraint. "S.A.T.O." is vintage Osbourne, with metal riffage only he can deliver. The title track begins with beautiful electric and acoustic guitar overdubs, and concludes the record with bombast. It is clear the Ozzman is at his peak on this album. Here, Rage has taken the dynamics of its unique style to a deeper level, as evidenced on "Mic Check," which features gentle, unsettling guitar work by Tom Morello, who is deservedly hailed as an innovator of the instrument. The mid-tempo funk of "Maria" finds vocalist Zach De La Rocha telling the poetic story of an immigrant factory worker whose dream of freedom leads her unknowingly into modern-day slavery. Taking up the cause of death row inmate Mumia Abu-Jabal, De La Rocha questions the validity of his trial in "Guerilla Radio" and fleshes out his argument in "Voice of the Voiceless." "Sleep Now in the Fire" finds De La Rocha making historical references to government greed and the darker side of human nature. Lou Reed had penned an album seemingly packed with hits, but by now, four LPs into the Velvets' career, only a sad few record buyers appreciated the band. Resignation permeates the album. Reed's voice is noticeably ragged, and bassist Doug Yule ended up recording many of the vocals for the final mix. Drummer Moe Tucker was pregnant, and Yule's brother Billy sat in on drums for most of the sessions. This was no longer the art rock Velvet Underground, but a far more accessible version, relying on Reed's songwriting over the band's overall musicality. Yet LOADED is arguably VU's most immediately satisfying album. Less overtly experimental than any of their other releases, the record still overflows with hooks, churning grooves and Lou Reed's irresistibly unique pop sensibility. In addition to the certifiable rock classics "Sweet Jane" and "Rock & Roll" (which alone should elevate the album into the rock pantheon), there are shiny, ironic ditties ("Who Loves the Sun"), cool, folk-rocking groovers ("Cool It Down"), and beautiful, weary ballads ("Oh! Sweet Nuthin'"). LOADED shimmers and gleams for all of its finality.
